How Does Kal Come Up With Lyrics?

  1. chrissy says:

…hey Rob! Is the first backing vocal to0 loud? I like the song and this version! All the best, for Kal too!

  2. paulizacha says:

it’s an awesome song, it’s sensitive, and the piano is beautiful, without drums is fine, maybe a fill stronger in the part before the chorous, will be awesome,– absolutely love the song, you rock guys, ♥

  3. Kelly says:

I’m in love with the new version! its so full of energy its great! :)

  4. Jack says:

this is so my favourite song out of all your songs it’s brilliant

  5. Russell the armchair critic says:

hey boys, not been on here for a while – loving the way that these songs are being developed. like the way this one builds up throughout. good to hear the strength of ur voice too rob, very good guitaring too. ( you can repay these nice comments with a few beers down the willy) Think drums and a bit more of heavier guitar would go down nicely particularly near end.

  6. Kelly says:

Hey! I have to say that this is one of my favourite songs I love the way it starts and I just love the whole song together :)

  7. Marta says:

I love the shivery way the violin comes in guys. And the violin solo is just amazing. People are saying cello for Vedere, but I’d like some on this one. What do you think?

    • Rob says:

What I think is that I agree with you completely Marta. Kal and I had discussed the possibility of Cello in this song and your suggestion confirms our view that it would work.

  8. Lani says:

Perfect opening…. very spare! Love the violin at 2.20… with such strength in this song, and the passionate vocals… could even do with additional oomph with bigger bass (& DRUMS, i see others have suggested this) toward the end of your line.. 1.15 etc… but maybe that is just a level thing as you already have the structure in it. Your idea of cello would also work well there instead. My Favourite song of yours to date!

    • Rob says:

Yeah the violin is great in this song. It takes it to another level and hopefully the drums will do the same. I just want to have that recording with drums in my hand now so we can hear it!!

  9. I love it, it sounds stronger more substantial i really like it. keep up the good work:-)

    • Rob says:

We were thinking of adding some Cello to this song. I think the low strings sound that a cello would bring could really add to it. What do you think?

  10. dena taylor says:

i love this song, I think it really needs drums. but other then that i think its great.

    • Kal says:

      Hi Dena,
Thanks for the comment. You’re totally right about the drums – we are working on getting a drummer to collaborate with us in the studio, so watch this space
      Kal

  11. Matt says:

Guys, I’m a drummer and would love to lay down something on this track.

That guitar is crying out for a phat beat!

    Get at me…

  12. D says:

Kal, you’re right about how the chorus changes the song – but so does the solo, how did you come up with it?

  13. Richard says:

Hell yeah!!! this has all the makings of a rock classic.

  14. Mike says:

Just to add as well – The chorus sounds really angry now which I like as well. It fits the song.

  15. Mike says:

    WOW…that’s all.

  16. richard says:

I wanna hear that bassline on this tune, and maybe some guitar? think about it

  17. Kal says:

This has to be my favourite of the songs. It’s the most fun to play and we have the most ideas for it. Look out for the updated version after our next studio session!

  18. superka9 says:

I agree with Kat. Singing in that notes gives power to the piece. It has the same structure as “Can’t help me now”, but you don’t perceive the repetition of the chorus because of that vocal power and because the sentences in it are longer and more dinamic. Let’s see what happens when you add more instruments… ;)

  19. Kat says:

Even if it might not quite fit in yet, Rob singing at the top of his voice makes this song really good. You should do it more often :-)
