Hi John,

Thanks for taking the time to leave your comment, we both really appreciate it.

You're right on both counts, we had a great time recording this, and this is my personal favourite of the five tracks we have up on the site.

You're also right that we won't be able to please people all the time. But I'm interested in what people who don't like the current version have to say. Why they don't like it, what they do like.

We'll keep having fun, without that I know I couldn't keep going!

Hope your drumming/singing continues to do the same for you.

I'm starting to really like your music. :D
For this song though you shouldn't let the music over power your voice. In the beginning I can barely hear you ! D=

I am really liking the strings. It brings more to the song. =)
Great intro and ending. Loved it !!

The funny thing about the drum beat at the end of this is, we did this song last (or second to last), and we couldn't get it sounding right at first. First of all, we started with drums coming in after the first chorus, then we limitted it to when we come out of the bridge. Then we thought about the ride doing 8s rather than 4s. Your idea would definitely give it that drive. but then, I don't think the drums are particularly loud enough on this version to hear the bass drum, so maybe that would give it more. Also, in my head, the feel we were going for was more 'celebratory/a culmination' (the closest word I could think of), so I think the drums work fairly well for that.

Hey April, I don't know if you can hear the bass drum on this version when it comes in, but we wanted it to almost sound like a heart beat - breathing life into the track. This is Jim our producer's favourite song.

I think adding the cymbals sounds awesome. However, after 2:30, you could make the drums more complex by adding some repeated descending tomtom runs, and change the snare hit to the 4th beat as opposed to the 3rd (maybe the suggestion of a double kick pedal would be too extreme for this particular song :D ) Would give the song more energy/drive I reckon.
